What influenced the sound and content of the new album? Who all did you work with to make this happen?
Keith had a big influence on my sound. I was still pretty green when we started this project. Thinking about all the work we put in, I’m so much better off now because of it. There’s actually quite a few Austin musicians on this record. Jacob Hildebrand, David Sierra, Brady Muckleroy, Fred Mandujano, Mitch Watkins, Raina Rose, Pat Harris, Keith, my brother Peter, my sister Lainey, just to name a few… We tried on a lot of different stuff. Oh, and strings! Imported from New York City. The fantastic Maxim Moston, and his team, helped out with that.
Any upcoming shows or tours where listeners can see you perform?
Yes! I’ve got my record release show at The Hideout in Austin, TX on February 22nd with Chase Weinacht of Marmalakes. Its a nice little intimate theatre right in the center of downtown. I’m working on making it pretty special. Some other stuff I’ll be announcing soon. Thinking about hitting the road in April after SXSW for a little solo acoustic tour. Still in the works….
