Let’s dive a little deeper into You, the artist and your music. What attracted you to this genre(s) or style(s)?
I cut my teeth on the hard rock of the late 70’s , early 80’s and never stopped. What attracted me to the style I have is fun loving , energy driven rock n roll. There is nothing like seeing a high octane rock show live… and if you can get that energy down when recorded, that’s a home run.
How long have you been creating and sharing your music with the public?
I’ve been playing music since I was a teenager. I’ve gigged around in cover bands and such since I was high school, and really got serious with writing my own material as I got into my twenties.
Who or what influences your playing and/or writing? Also, what motivates you to keep going?
I have a lot of different influences in my playing and in my writing. Some main influences are Elton John, Aerosmith , Kiss , Rolling Stones along with later influences of Bon Jovi and the 80s sound. Aerosmith is my biggest influence, as well as Bon Jovi in way of writing. Many things that happen to me in life I work into my writing- everything in my songs means something, some personal and some just from observations. What motivates me to keep going is my love and passion for my craft. This is my life and I have the best job in the world.
Were you trying to accomplish anything specific on this new project? Creatively or otherwise?
Yes, definitely. I was trying to share the love and passion I have for rock n roll. I not only do this for a living , I do this to live. Creatively I go with the flow , I write as I feel.
What was the last song you listened to?
Hmmm , Captain Fantastic by Elton John
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?
No Preference , Lol , as long as it’s heard!
How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?
Live because it is a fuller experience.
Other than the digital era overwhelming us with access to an abundance of music, what are one or two of the biggest challenges you face when trying to attract listeners to your music?
I feel the biggest challenge is getting heard for the first time. Getting that chance to prove yourself.
Do you gig, tour or perform? Do you ever live stream? Where can music lovers see you live?
Constantly Gig. I Play live Both with Jaded Past as well as Acoustic Solo. Full schedule is at www.jadedpast.com
Where is the best place to connect with you online? Discover more of your music?
