An expression of dark matter exploring narcissism, toxic relationships, and the struggles of mental illness, Salvation Jayne infiltrate the alternative scene with this fresh cut of white-hot noise. Riffy and anthemic with equal waves of melodic splendour, Salvation Jayne’s unruly display blends classic pop-punk tendencies with a brazen exhibit of unique flare.
In this interview spotlight, I chat with Salvation Jayne about the latest music, technology, adapting during a pandemic and more.
Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Where are you from and how do You describe your style of music?
We are from Kent & London, and we are an alternative rock band.
How did you get here? As in, what inspired or motivated you to take on this journey through music and the music biz?
The passion for listening to & writing music really. Plus we really feel like we’ve written material that we believe in, and wanted more people to enjoy it.
How does your latest project compare/contrast with your previous release(s)?
We now have an Erim on keys! Erim’s parts add so much more atmosphere, and make the songs more anthemic. Also, the writing is just stronger this time around. It’s like we’ve found our way.
Were you setting out to accomplish anything specific, follow a specific theme, or explore different styles of creation?
Something that people would remember! And something that came naturally, none of it was forced.
Name the biggest challenge you faced as a creative during these unprecedented? How did you adapt? How have you kept the creative fires burning during all this?
In life there is always something to inspire you, make you feel something, or nothing… there is always inspiration to help with the creation of music and lyrics.
What was the last song you listened to?
(Chess) We’ve actually created our own playlists on Spotify of songs that inspired us to write our parts for the album! I’ve been listening to this!
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? 8-tracks? Cassettes? CDs? MP3s? Streaming platforms?
(Chess) I’m a vinyl lover! Nothing can beat that sound! But I mostly stream!
Where is the best place to connect with you and follow your journey?
