Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)
Thank you for the time and the opportunity. I am a Puerto Rican artist that resides in the Southwestern suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. I create dark indie pop music sprinkled with post punk aesthetics, shoegaze stylings, and gothic tendencies. I create music that sounds familiar yet strange at the same time, a portal to the inner works of the balance of the darkness and the light that lurks in all of us. My objective have always been to blend all of the music that I enjoy into something harmonious, chaotic, and beautiful.
What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?
I have been making music since my early teens so it is part of who I am. It’s the avenue to express all of my emotions… the good, the bad, the ugly. My music is my biography and diary in the form of sound. Though the road has been long and very hard I continue to create music in hopes that it touches the soul of listeners.
How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?
Overall I believe this to be the best material that I have written to date. It is more streamlined, more appealing, while still maintaining the identity that I have forged throughout the years in the underground scene.
Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this oversaturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?
As the question states, one of the biggest challenges is the oversaturation of the market. Music has become disposable in the eyes and ears of the consumer. Though there are still some pockets of avid music collectors out there it has become more difficult to capture their attention with the plethora of artists releasing music nowadays.
Where is the best place to connect with you online and discover more music?
Anything else before we sign off?
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity and wish you, and your readers, the very best!
