This AI thing is getting way out of control. I have students using ChatGPT to write death metal songs about country music…and country songs about being sad. You can feed some Ais a text prompt and create a Hollywood-quality short film. How do you feel about this new wave of technological innovation?
In my opinion, artificial intelligence cannot be a true replacement for humanity. This is because human beings are unique and experience the world in their own way. Each individual feels and sees things differently. For instance, when writing a song, one song can convey different meanings to different people. Ultimately, in matters of creation and art, the most important factor is the person who created it. The experiences they have been through and the emotions they express are what make a work of art truly unique and valuable. Although artificial intelligence can create beautiful things, they can never match the beauty that comes from a human heart and emotion.
I know it’s hard…but what’s your favorite song and/or favorite artist of all time? If not favorite, in your top 3?
My favorite artist in the world is Debbie Harry from Blondie. My favorite song by Blondie is “Union City Blue”. My music style is very diverse, I like Harry Styles, especially his latest album, and I take a lot of inspiration from The Beach Boys.
Were you trying to accomplish anything specific or different with this project? What’s the back story?
My new song “Darling, I Would”, is the second song from my upcoming EP, following my latest single “Debbie”, a tribute to Debbi Harry. both of these songs will be part of my first EP in English. I wrote the entire EP after moving to Los Angeles and most of it was created during my studies at Musicians Institute. These songs represent my experiences with love, heartbreak, and my pursuit of my dreams. They were written during my journey to acclimate myself to a new place, meet new people, and learn new things while also believing and trusting in myself. Along the way, I met many people who influenced me and helped me get to where I am today.
What drives you to create? What keeps you going, especially on the bad days?
My drive to write comes from my desire to share my story and let others who feel like me know that they are not alone. I hope to be someone who can understand them as they want to be understood.
I began writing songs because I needed a way to express my feelings, but couldn’t find anything that described my journey. Writing has become an essential part of my life – when I’m feeling sad or going through a difficult time, I always turn to writing to help me process my emotions.
Through writing, I can express anything I want. There’s something healing about the process of writing, and I believe that everyone should make time for themselves to write. It’s a great way to get your thoughts and feelings out on paper, and to learn more about yourself.
If you could collaborate with anyone – dead or alive, famous or unknown – who would it be and why?
I would be thrilled and honored to collaborate with Debbie Harry and Blondie. She is my greatest musical inspiration, and working with her would be a dream come true. I believe that Debbie Harry is an admirable role model for women in the music industry. She has opened doors and paved the way for others. I am a huge fan of Blondie’s music and I would love to work with them on a new project.
