In this interview spotlight, I chat with No Lore about their latest single (With Little Light), their origins, and more.
Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Q: Hey there, introduce yourselves — how did you become a duo?
We’re siblings Jerald and Tita Halaman. Tita Halaman is a visual artist who creates paintings with poetry while we’re both musically inclined. No Lore came up as an idea because we wanted to express her art’s message through our common language which is music. – Jerald
What’s your artist perspective on your single “With Little Light”?
Uncertainty and failure often act as barriers that keep us from living our best lives, but a person can choose to defy these. “With Little Light” is about fearlessness. I think it’s a timely message to share. – Tita Halaman
If you could use 3 adjectives to describe your style and music what would you use and why?
Reflective and emotive but hopeful. We like balance ☺
How did you come up with No Lore as your artist name?
Everything’s DIY. We’re both self-taught artists and to put up something in the scene would be really hard for us. But it all boils down to how bad you want it. No excuses, no legends, no connections, No Lore – if you’re passionate enough, you can make things happen.
Where can we find your music and your online presence?
We’re all over major music platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube Music etc. We’re very active in our social media accounts and we’re always open for some projects and collabs.
