Moses’ new album, created through the world’s great reset, manifesting reflective songs of artist life in our times, shows a band intent on composing anthemic compositions from their very soul. Making noise that aims to touch and lift spirits, this is the genre-fluid sound of a classic rock band developing into their own culture – and inviting belief.
In this interview spotlight, I chat with Moses about the latest music, dream collabs, memories and more.
Full Q&A along with links and music below.
What’s something you’d like readers to know about your latest project?
The album, ‘I Still Believe! Do You?’ was recording during quite an interesting period of time. We recording the album during lockdown, with plenty of personal relationships breakdowns. We didn’t have a guitarist during the recording sessions, so it was logically quite challenging. Our first guitar player, Juno recorded half of the songs in South Korea.
How does this project compare with your other release(s)? Was there anything specific you were trying to accomplish?
This album is a darker, heavier and more cohesive long player, in terms of sound and songs, compared to our debut, ‘Almost Everything Is Bullshit’.
What motivates you to create music?
Music is the medium that makes me feel most alive and present.
It’s where I really feel my true self and where I feel I can really self express and share my emotions through it. It’s where I make myself happy and proud of what the band, and I, have shared and achieved.
What’s one of your first or most powerful music memories? Did that play any role in driving you to create?
Growing up at school I struggled a lot with education, being unfit and having no similar interests to my other school mates. Music and drums were my first hobby that I naturally excelled at – it gave me so much confidence and joy.
If you could collaborate with anyone – dead or alive, famous or unknown – who would it be and why?
With Jeff Buckley for sure, his music and voice I really resonate with me so much. He is my favourite male singer easy!
What was the last song you listened to? And who is one of your favorite all-time bands/artists?
Last song was ‘Palm Grease’ by Herbie Hancock. Some of my favourite artists are Steely Dan or Tool – both quite different from each other, but I listen to them a lot every day
Where is the best place to find you and stay connected?
I really appreciate Your time. Anything else before we sign off?
We’re currently writing then recording new songs and gearing up to play more shows (we love that)! from the end of this year. Thank you for the interview.
