Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)
Hi, I’m from South East England but also have Welsh and Irish roots. The music I create is mainly rock and acoustic songs based on a variety of subjects such as life, struggle, mental health, break ups, love and success. I’m the creator of two acts Silent Machines which means ‘To Be Heard’ and Mighty Eighty which promotes power in music plus eighty is my birth year.
What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?
It was at School of all things in a Science lesson experimenting with sounds I was like right gonna start a band. Then a teacher came in one day and started playing Led Zeppelin Stairway to heaven on a guitar I was sold. After that a new music came along and taught us about Jimmi Hendrix that was a big starter. I’ve been on radio stations and Tv throughout the world and the success and highlights have kept me going.
How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?
The new release by Silent Machines Radical Souvenirs has been more of a substance release and has been selling more as it has better song writing and the songs are overall more solid and hold better depth.
Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this oversaturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?
I think it can sometimes be a pressure to always be gaining enough attention on social media and that’s maybe something put on myself. Also working independently sometimes can overwhelm yourself with so much to do trying to gain exposure and build everything up as well being the artist. But the internet has made music have so much more exposure and boost publicity with contacts who may have never met.
Where is the best place to connect with you online and discover more music?
I can be reached via songheroesmusic@gmail.com and my music releases are online at https://open.spotify.com/album/5JSSW3UsCYVXizs3wPzEQI Silent Machines- Radical souvenirs and also https://store.cdbaby.com/Artist/MightyEighty
