Kim Kondrashoff is an accomplished musician singer, songwriter. He is also a veteran of numerous country, rock & blues bands. Kim’s original compositions received a three- star selection from Vancouver Province’s music critic Tom Harrison. His songs have been featured on C.B.C. Radio [“Coastal Grooves”] and independent radio stations worldwide.
As a veteran character actor, Kim has been seen in COLD SQUAD, X-FILES, Mac GYVER, and many other T.V. series and movies. His extensive feature film credits include working one on one with such stars as Dennis Miller [“BORDELLO OF BLOOD”] Aidan Quinn [“STAKE OUT”] and Jody Foster [“THE ACCUSED”] for which Ms. Foster received an Academy Award. Stage credits include numerous productions with every major theatre company in Vancouver including the Vancouver Playhouse and the Art’s Club. Kim is the recipient of Vancouver’s “Jessie Theatre Award” for ensemble acting. He has performed in over 100 CBC radio dramas.

Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)
I am from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The styles of music I create are: Old School Country, Rockabilly, Boogie, Western Swing, R & B, Funk, Roots Rock & a little Jazz.
What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?
What led me down this path of music is: It spoke to me & I fell in love with it.
What motivates me is: I still have a strong passion for writing, recording & performing original music.
How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?
The difference is: That I have Sound Check Entertainment promoting my music.
To be specific: I’m trying to reach as many people as I can with my music.
Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this over saturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?
The challenge(s) of not being just another grain of sand on a worldwide beach.
Technology has helped in a very big way in that: for one, the amount of money I have saved in not having to mail out countless CD’s to publishers & radio stations. & to extrapolate on that, the amount of material one can send through the internet is limitless & frugal.
What was the last song you listened to?
Number One Green Street by the jazz guitarist: Grant Green.
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?
Vinyl.
How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?
