In this interview spotlight, I chat with Fedi about the latest music, technology, adapting during lock downs and more.
Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Where are you from and how do You describe your style of music?
Melbourne, Australia. I’m a lyricist at my core, I think everything I make falls under the umbrella of ‘Hip-Hop’. With that said, I pride myself on my versatility and try not to limit myself creatively.
How did you get here? As in, what inspired or motivated you to take on this journey through music and the music biz?
I’ve been at this since I was like 11 and writing music on my guitar. When I discovered hip-hop it was like a natural progression, since then that’s been my passion and more importantly, my identity. There is no other alternative for me.
How does your latest project compare/contrast with your previous release(s)? Were you setting out to accomplish anything specific, follow a specific theme, or explore different styles of creation?
It blows all my other work out of the water in my opinion. It really feels like the first time I’ve felt a solid foundation being built in my artistry and my sound. I started hitting up a local studio and recording whenever I got the chance, once the first came, the rest just flowed through me. I definitely wear my versatility on my sleeve and that was definitely more of a focus this time around.
Name the biggest challenge you faced as a creative during these unprecedented? How did you adapt? How have you kept the creative fires burning during all this?
Trying to stay motivated, especially when not receiving results the way you thought you might at the stage you’re at. That’s always been my achilles heel, but I’m in this for the long run regardless. Challenges, lack of motivation, failure or otherwise.
What was the last song you listened to?
Diet Coke – Pusha T
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? 8-tracks? Cassettes? CDs? MP3s? Streaming platforms?
I prefer Vinyl but I don’t own a Vinyl player. Streaming is pretty convenient.
Where is the best place to connect with you and follow your journey?
Instagram, TikTok and Spotify at this stage, but I’ll probably be on every social media as long as it remains a necessary tool for artists.
I really appreciate Your time. Anything else before we sign off?
Every Record Authentic.
