Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)
From the sunny shores of Santa Barbara CA. We emerged from the beauty of the town with filth, ferver and fun. I like to call our style Garunck and hybrid fusion of Garage rock n roll and Punk. With a little Glam thrown in there too. Some call us Glampunk. There is definitely a polished edge to our music as well.
What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to stay the course?
We are a performance act. We have a full show to complement the music. The live show with all the antics is what really hooked us in and almost felt like a fix that we needed to feed regularly. With each show the act got a little crasier and bigger, thats when we started getting more attention and landed a record deal.
How is your new release different than previous ones? Did you set out to accomplish anything specific?
Our first release was an EP with the great Ronnie King producing. We were just getting started and he really kicked are ass into shape. It is a pretty raw sounding release in my opinion, capturing the high energy of the band.
Our next release started in Ventura Ca, at Castaway 7 studio. We went in to record 3 songs to get release quickly. We ended up getting the attention of Rose Lane records and signing with them At that point we had unlimited studio time, so we took our time and came out with 14 original and 3 cover songs. This is the album we are preparing to release on April 20th. As far as something specific, we wanted to provide our fans with an album that screams Rock IS Not Dead.
Do you face any challenges as an indie musician in a digital age? On the flip side, how has technology helped you (if it has)?
We love the fact that we can be completely autonomous and reach out to the world. When we did a soft release of one of our videos there was a lot of interest in India and Mexico. How cool is that? The Dtease went international in a click of a mouse. lol. Now it’s time for world domination muah ha ha ha.
Where can we follow you online and hear more music?
Social media is great because it has some of our live footage of The Dirty Mattress and other cool stuff. Youtube, Soundcloud, soon on Tunecore, CD baby etc
Anything else before we sign off?
We really appreciate the interview We really look forward to coming to Tennessee as soon as possible and sharing our brutiful mind blowing extravaganza with you guy
