Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Are you able to choose a favorite song of all time? Or would you label this an impossible task? If yes, what’s the song? If no, what’s your current Top 3?
That is a very hard task, but if I had to pick just one song it would be Mr. Bojangles by Jerry Jeff Walker
What about this project makes you most proud? Was there a specific goal you were trying to accomplish with this release?
This project was done during the Covid Pandemic. It made a project that should have been completed in a couple months take almost 3 years. I decided to do a very acoustic recording that was just about the songs and not heavily produced with lots of instrumentation.
What inspires you to create music? What motivates you to keep going?
I’ve played music since I was a small child. I could never stop trying to make music. I was one of those kids that never had to be asked to practice. It’s just something I’ve always done. It’s the major part of my life.
If you could collaborate with anyone – dead or alive, famous or unknown – who would it be and why? If it’s an indie/DIY artist, please include a link so readers can check them out.
Guy Clark. We were friends for many years. I spent lots of time with him over the years, but never asked for his help or input. I just didn’t ever want to feel like I was imposing. Now that he’s gone I wish I had. I think he was one of the great poets of all time. He could say so much in so few words.
What was the last song you listened to? Favorite all-time bands/artists?
I just bought a new Turntable and drug out a bunch of old vinyl records. The last song I listened to was James Taylor – Sweet Baby James
I have many favorite all-time bands and artists, but I really loved the music Crosby, Stills and Nash put out. I learned to sing harmony listening to them.
