In this interview spotlight, I chat with Creole Noir about his latest single (Off Script) featuring Rod Willz, challenges, motivations and more.
Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Where are you from and what style of music do you create?
Im an artist from east Texas, and I would describe my style of music as an unique, futuristic flow/concious rap. Im using my voice and talent to make a difference.
What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?
I used to write poems in junior high and high school so the creativity was always within me, but i recently decided to become a rapper. Well i feel more like a visionary than a rapper. With all the discrimination, insocial justice, brutal killings etc.. going on in American, im motivated to make a change for the better. I love helping/healing people with my words.
How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?
Actually this is my first release so I’m really excited about it! I wanted to show people that they don’t have to be the victim in society, switch the roles around and make them feel your pain.
Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this oversaturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?
One challenge is getting my song out to the right targeted audience. Its happening slowly but surely. Technology has made it a lot more convenient getting content to bloggers and radio stations.
Where is the best place to connect with you online and discover more music?
