Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Where are you from and how do You describe your style of music?
I am from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I love it here! The style of music I play is Modern Country with flares of Americana, Blues and Rock.
How did you get here? As in, what inspired or motivated you to take on this journey through music and the music biz?
I grew up doing all sorts of musical activities, like school choir, bands, dance groups and so many more. I also grew up listening to great music, thanks to my Mum and Dad and it made me realise how special music is. I never realised you could do it as a job until I saw Taylor Swift’s music video for ‘Mine’ on the TV and asked my parents about it. That’s when my love for creating music began.
How does your latest project compare/contrast with your previous release(s)? Were you setting out to accomplish anything specific, follow a specific theme, or explore different styles of creation?
I wanted to branch out and create a really contrasting release to my previous single ‘Why Did I Fall For You?’. That track was really Folk-Country and easy listening, and the music video complimented it well. For ‘I’ll Run To You’, it was important to create a whole Country-Rock atmosphere throughout. We created the music video to be uplifting, fun and quick-moving, just like the recorded track.
Name the biggest challenge you faced as a creative during these unprecedented? How did you adapt? How have you kept the creative fires burning during all this?
It was in the plans to release the track alongside the timing of the Tamworth Country Music Festival here in Australia, but due to COVID, the festival has been postponed to April 2022. Because of this, it was hard to line up the release of ‘I’ll Run To You’ to have a large audience of different age groups and interests in Brisbane due to the current circumstances. We pushed through with our release and hopefully it will all pay off in the end.
What was the last song you listened to?
The last song I listened to was ‘Highway Don’t Care’ by Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban – some of my favourite artists of all time.
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? 8-tracks? Cassettes? CDs? MP3s? Streaming platforms?
Personally, I listen to CD’s the most. I even have a collection. But, my whole family enjoys listening to vinyl’s in out dining room. Despite this, I do still love using my Spotify, but try to buy CD’s from artists where I can.
Where is the best place to connect with you and follow your journey?
I post covers, news updates and shows I play regularly on my Instagram and Facebook as I find it is the easiest way to connect with people all over the globe. I also share a lot of content on my website www.brianadinsdale.com.
I really appreciate Your time. Anything else before we sign off?
