Full Q&A along with links and music below.
Oh…and the music RAWKS!
Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)
Hi I’m Ronen, the guitarist and singer of Bish Bash. We are a fun oriented indie pop-rock trio from Tel Aviv, Israel, and we sing in broken English with a heavy-but-proud Hebrew Accent.
What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?
I’ve started to play guitar when I was 17. Pretty late I think. My friend who was a bass player was teaching my a lot of mistakes since bass players only familiar with 4 strings. since than I’m trying to fix those mistakes J how about that for motivation?
How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?
It’s our First EP, we recorded it After several months of working on materials in an underground bomb shelter that we converted into a rehearsal room. Our aim was to record several songs before we start to preforming, so there will be an option for fans that see us live, to listen our songs later on.
Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this oversaturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?
10 years ago I had a band called Lo Dubim, when we started, in every show we used to give our fans CD’s for free. It turned out to be very effective (and not expansive), since every fan had our CD to listen in is car on his way home after the show. At this digital age I can’t do it no more, no one uses physical copies. I haven’t found yet an effective way to give my music to the audience so it may establish this band-fan connection.
What was the last song you listened to?
copycat – billie eilish (the acoustic version)
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?
Honestly? I don’t care about that… please don’t hit me
How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?
Personally I like Youtube, force of habit. But from a band’s perspective I think Spotify is the best tool to get our music to new ears.
