Hailing from a section of Colorado known as “The Valley”, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Grayson Erhard saw his music career take an unexpected turn while performing a cover version of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition at NAMM. During that performance, the man and the legend Stevie Wonder overheard the song, approached Grayson and a spontaneous, impromptu duet ensued.
The crowds congregated around this special moment and Grayson Erhard was an instant viral success landing in Rolling Stone, receiving a call from Good Morning America, and then calls from other major publications and networks followed. Erhard’s life as a computer programmer suddenly became a side note and his music career as an independent musician now the central focus!
A masterful guitarist and song crafter, Grayson Erhard creates music which is highly appealing but is a complete contrast to the world of trendy pop songs which are known to propagate corporate influenced culture to the masses.
Considering he is native to an isolated area of Colorado which boasts a whopping 1,800 residents, his move North to the more urban areas of the State came as a culture shock but also fuels and inspires Grayson’s captivating, emotive and thought-provoking music.
His latest single and music video, I Will, starts off as a gentle yet passionate acoustic number but gradually builds into an epic and intensifying wall of sound that overwhelms the senses through beautiful melodies, an arena sized hook and beautiful harmonies compliments of Amy Israel. The piano work which takes off during the bridge further drives this song deep into your emotional core.
If Grayson Erhard hasn’t been on your radar, he is now. I highly suggest you dig deeper into his music and his distinct, percussive style of playing acoustic guitar. Grayson is well on his way to becoming a long lasting staple in music.
