Every year 2 million+ students take the SAT.
This interesting lyric video to the song Goodbye SAT asks, “what does it measure? does anyone really know?”
We all have an opinion about standardized testing, so if you are one of those that isn’t really for it… you can dig this song.
Goodbye S-A-T encourages colleges to consider applicants without SAT scores and high school students to consider attending colleges that do not require the SAT or the ACT. 850 colleges and universities in the United States are test-optional. It is okay to ask students to demonstrate their mastery of various academic subjects, but there are many reasons why students and their families might look at test-optional colleges (quality education, specific academic programs, commitment to individualized learning, some people are not great test-takers, students can focus their energies on academic courses and their areas of interest).
