Go John David is here to put to sleep all the Ghosts on the Ride Home.
This melancholic collection of songs is very reminiscent of the alt-rock from my teenage years (mid to late ’90s), but it is also obvious Go John David is influenced by a wide range of sounds. Inheriting albums such as Metallica and Air Supply from his older siblings probably helped.
This is one of those CDs you listen to in the car with the windows down as you ride into the dark of night. If there are any ghosts along for the ride, put on some Go John David and they will chill out in no time.
I hear influences from the Smashing Pumpkins and Goo Goo Dools, but Go John David puts a unique twist on his production that makes Ghosts on the Ride Home stand on its own. Considering he has been playing guitar since age 13 and recording since age 17, it’s obvious Go John David has had plenty of time to find his voice and polish his sound. I dig it!
He is currently in the process of raising funds to record his next EP. You can donate to the cause on Kickstarter.
