Take a deep breath, muster your courage, and take a leap on the “Merry Go Round”! It’s a ride you’ll take to the end and be glad you did. With a sound that combines Norah Jones, Natasha Bedingfield, and so much more, it’s a sensational experience of jazzy, smooth tones and an awe-inspiring voice.
Shani started as a classically trained pianist and after some schoolin’ at USC’s Thornton School of Music, where she helped develop the Popular Music Program for students that don’t mesh well with traditional forms of classical and jazz music. She decided to put her efforts toward writing and performing her own music after graduating with a Masters in Music Education. Her first EP was released in 2009, which she recorded and edited by herself. She is also a featured artist at the Universal Citywalk in Hollywood.
Her new album “Merry Go Round” was released on December 23rd 2012. The title track, “Merry Go Round”, has an almost Susan Tedeschi feel, but with a twist of Sara Bareilles. “Enough” picks up the tempo and the spirits with an inspirational message. Shani brings a writing style with her songs that is unique and enticing. Check out the track,”I Am” from said album below.
