I love their song and especially the video for Coach. EPIC!!
Full Q&A, links, and the video below.
Let’s dive a little deeper into You, the artist and your music. What attracted you to this genre(s) or style(s)?
We’ve all always been big fans of raw, organic music with real instruments. When we play together, that’s the style we naturally invoke!
What led you into this journey with music? And further, what drives you to push it out to the public?
We all grew up really close to music and knew it was something we needed to keep in our lives, one way or another. We love for our music to resonate with people outside of ourselves, and it creates a cool vehicle that makes use of our visual skills as well on projects like this new music video for Coach!
Who or what influences your creativity? Have your tastes in music changed over time?
We’re influenced by tons of different artists, from Elliott Smith and Ben Folds, to The National, anything with a solid indie rock sounds also usually catches our ears. What we listened to in high school is pretty drastically different from what we listen to now, but I think we’ve found our niche in the music world.
Were you trying to accomplish anything specific on this new project? Creatively or otherwise?
This is the first song we’ve produced with our drummer Jeremy, it was fun working with real drums for the first time and trying to use them to create something really powerful. We were so excited we dedicated a bar to just drums to start the song off!
What was the last song you listened to?
Twice by Catfish and the Bottlemen, we’ve been really digging them lately!
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?
There’s nothing like spinning a vinyl, but mp3’s have been really kind to us in the 21st century, listening to music and sharing our own with the world!
How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?
We’re a Spotify house for sure. We’re on Apple Music, Bandcamp and Soundcloud but don’t think about them as often. We also love YouTube for the video aspect!
Other than the digital era overwhelming us with access to an abundance of music, what is the biggest challenge you face when trying to connect with or find new fans?
We have been getting really strong, positive responses to our music and videos, but the struggle is always trying to find our way to the top of the stack so more people get the chance to see and hear us! It seems like people are hesitant to jump on a train unless it’s already moving.
Where is the best place to connect with you online? Discover more music?
Facebook and Youtube! Our main focus is to build a series of diverse videos that fans can relate to and really get to know us through.
