Let’s dive a little deeper into You, the artist and your music. What attracted you to this genre(s) or style(s)?
I always loved Rock music since I was young. Thanks to mom. It is a big part of me. I like music that makes you go ooh! Yeah! That is good. Any style that does that I like it.
What led you into this journey with music? And further, what drives you to push it out to the public?
You only live once, and I always wanted to sing in a band, but I had to choose between music or family. The family came first and always.
Now the children are a lot older. I wanted to start again. I did and recorded my first album with my band mates. Eric Poitras lead guitar and back. Bob Simon bass player and back. Oswen Lafitte drummer.
I wanted an album that people could enjoy and get you hooked so that you will listen to it again.
Who or what influences your creativity? Have your tastes in music changed over time?
Big heavy metal fan when I was young. Now easier listening more to what the song has to say than bang your head.
Love creating music. The challenge of making a great song and getting people to say oh! Yeah!
That is the fun of it.
I love all styles of music. I just have to keep you hooked long enough to make you like it. Just one more second. Lol.
Were you trying to accomplish anything specific on this new project? Creatively or otherwise?
I wanted to write about things that I have experience in my lifetime. Wanted it to make people happy to sing a song about the same thing that happens to them.
Music is about sharing with each other. To tell a story about something and someone you encountered or done.
What was the last song you listened to?
Faded by Alan Walker. I thought it was cool. It made me feel like you were under the ocean in the calm. Floating on clouds. Great song.
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?
All of them. In today’s world MP3s.
As for the quality of sound Vinyl and CDs.
How about this one. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?
I enjoy all of them.
I would go to buy on Bandcamp, Reverbnation, or CD Baby. Platforms where the musician gets his or her fair share.
Other than the digital era overwhelming us with access to an abundance of music, what is the biggest challenge you face when trying to connect with or find new fans?
That is just the problem, the overwhelming abundance of music. It is great that people from all over the world are making music and that in a way makes it harder to be heard by future fans.
They are so much of it that is it hard and confusing to choose what song you would like to hear.
For us here on an island. It is even more difficult to get out there to sing for them.
Where is the best place to connect with you online? Discover more music?
Facebook-https://www.facebook.com/georges.l.experience/ as for information in English and French since we live on an island just off the coast of Canada that belongs to France.
Soundcloud-https://soundcloud.com/georges2017 as for music that we share.
Reverbnation-https://www.reverbnation.com/artist/georgesleveque as for music that we share also.
Don’t be shy as for writing to us. If you want to know more about our music, give us a shout, message or e-mail. I will always find time for my fans. To connect with them is a real pleasure.
We will be putting new music out there as soon as it sounds good to me.
Anything else you’d like to add before signing off?
I believe that as a band. Every person who listens, download, buy, and so forth get our appreciation and thank you from the heart. You build a house one brick at a time. Once your finish the house. It is full of beautiful people who share the same thing you do. Love for good music and connection with the band. A part of the family.
Thanks Joshua for this time with you and all of the team. It was fun.
Take care.
Cheers,
George L Experience.
