Matty Ride has arrived with his Self-Titled EP and the new video for his single “First Day Of Summer”.
Grammy award winning producer/songwriter Tommy Sims discovered Idaho raised Matty Ride. Sims calls Ride “bad to the bone”.
Drawn to Matty’s songs and advanced musicianship, Sims decided to bring Matty to Nashville so he could take him under his wing and introduce him to the more soulful side of Music City.
Quickly accepted and respected by his peers, Matty realized the place was Nashville and the time was right now.
“I’ve always loved the music that I had a hard time sitting still listening to. And that’s the music I wanted to make.”
The video for First Day of Summer featuring B.et.a and Fyütch is a good indicator of what to expect from Matty’s self-titled, 5 song EP. Upbeat, poppy, and sonically appealing, Matty channels the sounds of late ’70s/early ’80s synth pop and r&b with his own fresh and modern twist.
