It doesn’t happen very often but every once in a while an album comes through my inbox which gives me everything I truly love in a great rock record. Fathom XIX are the next band to achieve this status with their new album The Sky Beneath.
Their funky, progressive, punk-infused, hard rockin’ soundscapes are The Sky Beneath my wings and today, ladies and gentleman, I am soaring through rock and roll bliss; volume as loud as it will go, children in school, wife away at work, and nothing but empty space for me to RAWK the **** out with any air instrument of my choosing (without receiving weird looks or judgement from anyone).
Whether rocking your socks off with more intense, energetic walls of sounds or mellowing out with the more surf-esque vibes of tracks like Pretty Ones, Fathom XIX are masters of their craft: the songwriting, the musicianship, the song structures and the pristine production, it’s all there waiting to be embraced and thoroughly enjoyed by your sensory system.
Wait until the band launches into the bridge of Pretty Ones…ohhhhh just wait for it! And this is only ONE song; only ONE! Wait until you hear the entire album!!
Dave Hempstead (drums), Darin Wiltse (vox), Koty Schoenberg (bass) and Shane Roberts (guitar) are the Michigan-based rock and roll powerhouse known as Fathom XIX and, if you love great rock music, you need to go follow them, add them to your playlists, share their songs and show your support in anyway possible.
It’s not very often, especially in these digitally modernized times, that the rock and roll heavens unleash saviors upon our weary souls. However, Fathom XIX have arrived to remind us Rock is alive and well; at least their part of Michigan
