Steven James Wylie was once involved in multi-million dollar projects with his real estate development company, but in 2009 he found himself bankrupt, living in his parents’ basement with his expectant wife, and trying to find a light at the end of a dark tunnel.
It was time for new beginnings and as he sat in the basement watching country music videos, James reconnected with his passion for music.
“It was a brutally painful season, but as time went on I began to realize it was an opportunity. It was actually one of the greatest things to ever happen to me,” the Nashville-based artist says with a laugh. “Before that, I felt like I was 65 and my life was over, but after the dust settled, I reconnected with music and felt reborn.”
The result of Mr. Wylie’s creative energies is his 5 track EP, Everything I Love, which is a powerful, uplifting, and intimate collection of sophisticated pop songs.
Growing up in Spokane, Washington, Steven was heavily influenced by the alternative revolution that was occurring in Seattle in the 1990s. Matching this foundation with his preference for the storyteller heritage of country music, James has created an album worth listening to more than once.
