C.K. Flach first began drumming at the age of ten and then learned a few guitar chords on a trip to Cambodia. Shortly after he began writing songs which eventually led to forming a band with his brother but during 2016 C.K. began focusing more on solo material and has arrived with a mentally and emotionally stimulating collection of songs on his concept album Empty Mansions.
With an alt-folk edge, Empty Mansions includes ten very distinct but cohesive and very well crafted songs that explore some of the major issues of the current times. Through stories of love, loss, hurt and salvation C.K. tackles prominent issues such as racism, politics, corruption and all the division happening throughout the human species.
I think music is the strongest medium we have to share ideas, feelings and views. And what I hope for is that whoever listens to my music can take something away with them. Be it a thought, feeling, idea or inspiration,” says Flach.
In a very smooth melding of genres soulful vocals, infectious grooves, engaging stories and smooth grooves combine to form a well thought out and composed concept album worthy of a spot in your indie music collection.
