Driving synths, loud drums and violent guitars. DIGITAL ORDER is a unique blend of modern dance music and classic hard rock. Their sound can be described as a mix between electronic artists Justice, The Bloody Beetroots and classic hard rock such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
Founded in 2013, Australian band DIGITAL ORDER have worked hard to galvanize their unique “electronic rock” sound. With members Shane Ariti (Vocals), Will Cruz (Keys/ Guitar), Henry Gunson (Drums) and Andy Beerli (Guitar), DIGITAL ORDER are known for their spectacular high-energy live shows and have consistently charted on local Australian and US digital radio.
DIGITAL ORDER has worked hard on all fronts and are about to release the first installment of their upcoming album ‘Sons of the Odyssey‘. With an arsenal of new material and their exponential growth as a band it is clear this is just the beginning…
In this interview, we chat about influences, the new project, and more.

Let’s dive a little deeper into You, the artist and your music. What attracted you to this genre(s) or style(s)?
Without a doubt the energy it brings. With every track we make we always ask ourselves “what would this look like live on stage?”.
How long have you been creating and sharing your music with the public?
We’ve been making music as Digital Order since 2013, but we’ve been taking it more seriously this year, now that we feel we’ve found our sound.
Who or what influences your playing and/or writing? Also, what motivates you to keep going?
Influences are everything from classic rock such as BLACK SABBATH, to contemporary electronic like THE BLOODY BEETROOTS or DAFT PUNK. I guess what motivates us the most is that we make music that we genuinely enjoy listening to and playing live.
Were you trying to accomplish anything specific on this new project? Creatively or otherwise?
With our latest single ‘In My Dreams (I Let You Go)’ we were definitely trying to go for a more commercial ‘EDM’ sound, but without compromising that hard rock energy. We wanted something that starts off personal and builds up to this really heavy driving chorus.
What was the last song you listened to?
Gang of Youths – Strange Disease
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?
Vinyls with a glass of wine, MP3s for the gym, CDs ripped onto my mac and stored away in a dusty box. I will admit though, I definitely miss the days of reading through a bands CD booklet.
How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?
At this stage I’d say I prefer Spotify. Its got a great following, great playlists and its accessible on so many devices.
Other than the digital era overwhelming us with access to an abundance of music, what are one or two of the biggest challenges you face when trying to attract listeners to your music?
The biggest challenge, at least here in Australia, is getting people out of the comfort of their home to experience live music. You can’t download or stream an amazing live show. Thats something visceral.
Do you gig, tour or perform? Do you ever live stream? Where can music lovers see you live?
We’re taking a break at the moment from gigging as we’ve got a few more tracks we want to polish up for release, but we’re definitely planning on taking things up a notch this year. We’re even in talks at the moment about a possible tour to the US!

Any last thoughts? Shout outs? Words of wisdom?
I love this quote from Tiga along the lines of “if you enjoy the music you make, chances are there’s someone else out there who likes it as much as you”.
