Vancouver based actor and folk/rock/roots singer/songwriter D.G. Adams has arrived with his third studio album The Old Heart.
Despite this being his third album, DG kept his music to himself for many years only sharing songs with a small circle of friends. During that time he was successfully building his career as an actor working in films and theater.
Some of his film work includes roles in Lionsgate’s “Power Rangers (2017)”, Fox’s “Alcatraz”, Lifetime’s “Merlin and the Book of Beasts”, and MGM’s “The Betrayed”!
Impressive!
Other accolades include: AKADEMIA Winner Best Song (“Blind and Deaf”) Folk/Americana in 2016, Artist of the Month from Blue Light Studio in 2014, and Pick of the Week (“Feminine Endings”) by Museum of Canadian Music in 2011!

With that success under his belt, Adams has been exerting most of his energy into his passion for music. With his 2011 release Feminine Endings (Shakespeare reference) and 2014’s Vajra, his newest record The Old Heart continues DG’s evolution as a creative, inspiring songwriter.
D.G. Adams isn’t much on cliches or for staying within the confines of what most consider folk/rock songwriting.
The Old Heart is a journey through sonic surprises, unexpected mood changes, and a lyrical finesse that stands above the average songwriter.
I could compare Adams’ style to more popular names like Leonard Cohen or Neil Young, Bob Dylan or Joni Mitchell, or even Lou Reed but Adams is really in a lane all his own. Sure those influences are present but Adams sounds nothing like them and all like himself!
