Grabbing my attention from the moment I clicked play with a smooth, funky, get up and groove jam titled Be My Friend, Boston based rockers Deep C Divers have delivered their new album Making Waves.
Straight ahead rock and roll collides head on with funk-infused jams which seamlessly transition into tropical reggae vibes, the collective passion of four talented musicians, and a whole lot of soul.
Founded by Indian-born singer/songwriter Deep Chinappa, Deep C Divers also includes top notch music makers Paul Erlich (guitar, keyboard), John Bordage (drums) and Gregg Marcus (bass).
Blending elements of alternative rock, pop, funk and reggae with a sound that summons the impeccable soul of the ’60s and ’70s along with a healthy dose of Eastern influence, Making Waves is an album that you can’t help but pump up to volume 12 as you uncontrollably grab your air instrument of choice while dancing, bouncing and grooving along to 35 minutes and 19 seconds or sonic bliss.
Deep C Divers recorded this album entirely on their own which further adds to the potency and impact of this uplifting, soulful, 8-song jam session.
