Seattle based creative Dan Hamann seamlessly blends comedy and music. Typically organizing live events to share his humor and uplifting energy, 2020 got in the way of all that. However, it’s creatives like Dan who give me hope and keep a smile on my face. Despite a microscopic virus shutting down the entire world, Hamann used his lockdown time wisely.
Tapping into his vast network of highly talented musicians, Dan pulled together and featured 64 instruments from 26 musicians across 12 countries (the full list of credits can be found below the Spotify embed). With his undying love for composing, arranging, and simply creating, it is safe to say that Dan Hamann decided to manifest his own personal heaven despite the rest of the world, at times, spiraling into complete chaos.
Combining comedic storytelling with a vast array of musical instrumentation and no regard for genre boundaries, Lumbering Grace is a collection of Dan’s top songs when he his stage show his active and entertaining audiences in full force. With 14 songs total, Lumbering Grace puts on full display Dan’s masterful song crafting skills. In addition to that, this album also shows how well Hamann relates to and resonates with his audience.
When asked about this origins, Dan shares,
“My background is as a live comedic performer, and this album represents my first fully produced (non-live) album. Growing up I studied Classical Piano and Jazz Guitar, while also heavily involved in Theater and acting. I have been performing my “Comic Tunesmitheries” for over 25 years. I got started way back in the late 80’s in College in a Comedy duo, where we toured college campuses with our original musical/comedy act. After that I spent a decade writing/performing/directing in Theater productions in Seattle. Since then I returned to writing comedic songs, and have been a performing live shows for almost 15 years.”
Dan Hamann isn’t new to this!
