Wares (aka James Hardy) has arrived with the new EP, City Kids, which includes 4 songs of the most rambunctious, in-your-face, unforgiving bluesy-folk rock my ears have ever been blessed with hearing.
This sounds like Bob Dylan possessed by Thom Yorke in the middle of a mosh pit.
From Wares’ bio,
Raised in the late summer revelry of the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, he found equal footing in the ideals and fierce camaraderie of the Edmonton punk and metal scene.
Produced and recorded by Blair Drover (Desiderata, Audio/Rocketry), these four songs pack a punch to your senses: “The Queen of Spanish Harlem”, “Barely Knew Her”, “Divining Rod”, and “Because I”.
Creating a sound like no other, Wares released his first album, Sunshine, in the summer of 2013. After performing locally with Joe Nolan and The Stolen Organ Family, it became clear Edmonton is ready for more.
This release is supported by Oak Apple Records and you can grab your copy right here.
“Everyone has something to sell.” James Hardy declares, ‘Wares’ is my offering to the world. To me, that means itʼs my responsibility on stage to do whatever it takes to give people their moneyʼs worth”.
