Christina Rubino is set to release her forthcoming album in January 2017 but today I’ve got a special treat, her new single and the Frankie Nasso directed visual treatment for Godspeed and Guns.

Godspeed and Guns is a haunting Thelma & Louise-esque tale exploring the darker side or more aptly, the shadow self.
Shadow, in Jungian terms, represents the dark, instinctive and irrational side of the personality. It’s projections remain hidden from our conscious mind – so no matter how we try and escape becoming what we hate, the fact remains that in some sense, we already are just that, becoming more fully the shadow self by trying to escape it. You cannot drive out darkness with darkness – and when you spend your life refusing to see, you lose the ability to see even if you wanted to, which was the ultimate fate of the old man in the song shadow, and the girl in the Godspeed and Guns video,” explains the songwriter of her single.
Taking a cruise through this outlaw-infused soundscape, we join the lead female as she rides through the back roads with the top down. “A couple of bad seeds just living on the road…”
As we progress through the Tarantino-like visual, it becomes evident the dark side of our main character is much darker and more sinister than we first thought.
Anthemic brass, heart piercing classical guitar runs, powerful and soul infused vocals combine with layered and emotion evoking production to bring this psychological thriller of a music video to life.
This is art and it rocks!
