Charity Ekeke grew up in Nigeria and used to save her gift money to buy song books every six months which exposed her to the music of The Beatles, Jimmy Reeves, Nat King Cole and many other legendary and well known songwriters and recording artists.
During her free time, Charity would learn the songs in her books.
Inspired by current events from all over the planet, Charity infuses her own personal struggles to create meaningful songs that have a positive impact.
Her song Bloodline was inspired by the events in Syria and the migration of its people to new parts of the world.
Don’t Call Them is a expression of concern for the lives of teenage mothers, prostitutes, and the darker situations women can find themselves in.
She Bears is another song which explores the multiple forms of abuse women from which women around the world suffer.
These Times came about after listening to her daughter discuss birth control.
For nearly 20 years Charity has been documenting her experiences, feelings and thoughts through her writings as an outlet for her passion for creating.
Her new album She is a collection of songs blending the genres of rock, pop and world music and is the result of many years of perfecting her songwriting craft.
The album is now streaming on Soundcloud.
