Carter Lou was preparing to head to college when life happened. His two best friends committed suicide one day apart from each other. If that wasn’t hard enough to deal with, Lou’s girlfriend had just left him with a broken heart.
It’s moments like these that can either kill a soul or cause it to take extreme action. Lou chose the latter. Walking the path less traveled, Lou told his parents he was not going to university and put all his energy and focus into building a career in music.
Since that decision, Carter Lou has packed out a nice list of headlining shows on top of landing a prestigious endorsement from the makers of those beautiful, great sounding PRS guitars. Impressive indeed!
Carter’s newest release, Evil Game, is a gritty, blues-rockin’ jam tackling that moment in time when you realize your significant other isn’t who you initially thought they were. Despite warnings from close friends and family about that significant someone, we chose to pursue a relationship with them anyway. In the words of Carter,
This song is me standing up for myself in a mentally abusive relationship and telling myself that I deserve better.”
He’s right. We do deserve better!
This one song is all it took for me to become a fan of Carter Lou & The Project. Walking a fine line between blues rock grittiness and hard rock attitude, Evil Game is a powerful, memorable song that will stick with you long after it ends.
Excuse me while I highly encourage you to connect with Carter and also jam Evil Game on Soundcloud. It’s time for me to go discover more tasty tunes from this talented songwriter.
