MusicTree Festival will be going down June 7 – 11 in Manchester, Tennessee. We will be publishing info and features about the bands as we close in on this event. Feel free to check out our coverage from 2012.
Let everyone know who you are, where you are from and what style of music you play.
We are Cameras, Guns, & Radios and we are from Augusta, GA. We are a rock band.
What do you do for fun? You know…besides music?
I love to travel and experience new places. It’s nice when a show has us traveling to a new place. Then I can do both at the same time!
What was the last song you listened to?
“#41” by the Dave Matthews Band.
What did you listen to when you were younger? What do you listen to now? Have your tastes changed?
I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. So, I started with a healthy dose of hair metal but quickly moved to more old school rap and R&B. Mid-90’s I went through another phase where I was listening to a lot of old and new country music. These days I listen to some new rock but also listen to a lot of 90’s rock. Some of my favorite bands of all time are Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and a lot of other “grunge” bands. My tastes in music have definitely changed over the years. These days I tend to go with more classic sounds in any genre versus trendier music.
Was there an “ah-ha” moment in your life when you knew music would be the path you were going to walk?
After high school I didn’t play my drums for about 15 years. It was a long break and I never was sure if or when I would play them again. But, I kept my old drumset for all those years and I met a guy at work who shared an interest in music. So we started jamming one day and that ultimately led to me picking the drumsticks back up. And now after being back into it for about 10 years I don’t see myself taking another long break like that again. I do have a “day” job too. But, as long as I am able to make good music and have fun doing it I will continue to play stages.
How did you hear about Music Tree Fest?
I heard about MusicTree back in 2012. We played it last year and are headed back this year. I heard about it on Facebook somehow. I don’t remember exactly where. It might have been through someone else’s newsfeed.
How do you feel about being a part of Music Tree Festival?
This will be our second year in a row playing MusicTree so obviously we are excited to be a part of it. The event is well-organized and poised to be an annual event for years to come.
Do you have plans for Bonnaroo?
I won’t be able to attend Bonnaroo this year. But I definitely like being part of the Manchester scene that week before Bonnaroo. I can just smell the music in the air!
Do you have an album available? Where can we get it? Where can people connect with you online?
People can find our music on iTunes, CDBaby, and other online outlets. Or, they can also go to www.camerasgunsandradios.com to find our music, show dates, etc. We released our first album earlier this year. We will have copies at MusicTree for people who would like one!
Any last thoughts? Shout outs?
Mark: We’d like to give a shout out to the MusicTree team for having us back! We enjoyed the hospitality last year and look forward to an even better event this year!
