My name is Bodizepha and I am a lyrical martial artist inspiring people to enjoy life, deal with obstacles and experience happiness. Through my lyrics, rhythm and melody the curious mind is at play. At age 15 I was writing rhymes, by 18 I was making beats and writing songs. I am a musician, visual artist, film editor, social activist, sports enthusiast and lyrical martial artist.
Bodizepha is not joking. He is a martial arts master of the independent hip hop scene. His new record Truth Seeker is what would happen if Wu-Tang went to the islands to make a record with Bob Marley, Bruce Lee, and Tony Jaa.
As the son of a jazz musician father and classical flutist mother, the New York native learned early on that music was a vehicle of expression. He began djing on-air at 15, writing songs at 17 and by 21 was renting studio space to record his music.
Bodizepha has traveled to Haiti, South Africa, Israel, Jamaica, and across Europe where he was able absorb the music of each country. He also extracted new musical nuances to feed his own style. Hip hop, electronic, dance hall reggae, and pop have fused into his music to create a unique blend with which many can not compete.
He hand built his recording studio in 2005 and he rarely leaves. When he is not working on his own music, you can find Bodizepha producing for other artists and working with the Florida Youth Orchestra which provides music education for the youngsters up to age 18.
