Pensacola based artist Big Lo dropped Magnum Opiates in 2013. I became an immediate fan and have been following him ever since.
One of the hardest working, most artistic and passionate independent Hip Hop artists I have had the honor of connecting with, Big Lo maintains a steady touring schedule, which until recently stuck to the East Coast, but has quickly began expanding West of the Mississippi as 2017 has progressed.
The newest release Wunderland Apokalypse, his relentless work ethic, and the undeniable passion and integrity he pours into his art have most definitely brought him to this point and will continue to drive him into the ears, minds and hearts of Hip Hop Heads across the world.
Big Lo is Boom Bap for Boom Bap addicts. He is a true artist. He is Hip Hop but he is also way bigger than any label you could ever place on his creativity.
His immaculate producer choices, his unique and refreshing approach to his art, his unmatched lyricism and his ability to comment on pop culture and world events in intriguing ways no one else achieves in song all contribute to the list of reasons Big Lo stands tall above the over saturated crowd of rappers fighting for our attention.
My only complaint about Wunderland Apokalypse is it ends too quickly. I want more! And to be completely honest, I purchased his entire discography from Bandcamp after listening to the new album.
If you need some authentic, genuine, refreshing Boom Bap in your life, go get this album…now!
