The foundation for Aurganic formed back in 1999 when Leo and Mike (who were high school classmates) joined a punk band.
Interestingly enough these two creatives spent their time discussing old jazz rock albums they heard growing up.
Over the next decade, Mike and Leo would live life, walk their individual paths, but, thanks to technology, the two would find themselves reconnecting in 2009. Mike was in Toronto. Leo was in New York.
Another interesting tidbit, Aurganic would have never happened if Mike had not noticed Leo sharing his explorations into dubstep and synth sounds on Myspace.
Mike, interested in what Leo was creating, took a trip down to New York, bought a bass, jammed, and created Bliss Techs.
What happened next?
They both geared up their living rooms with recording equipment in order to write, record, and produce from home while using the web to collaborate. Within a year the two had released a self-titled EP revolving around jazz rock, drum’n’bass, dubstep, and big beat.
People responded. Aurganic now had a following.
The next move involved pouring their energy into a full length self produced album. The result was Life As A Canvas; half experimental instrumental songs and the other half focused on songwriting and collaborating with guest vocalists. The public praised their clever mix of electronic and live instrumentation as well as the duo’s pristine technical execution.
Now on a wave of recognition and the full force of creative juices flowing through them, Aurganic returned to the studio for another full length.
The result is Deviations.
This is what would happen if Thom Yorke kicked out all the members of Inucbus, replaced them with members from Muse and created a record with Depeche Mode.
Deviations is epic. It is an opus. It is a refreshing blend of live and electronic instruments that leave you no choice but to sit back, turn up, and zone out.
This is a journey through Aurganic sounds.
