Oh boy… every once in a while something really special finds its way through the abyss of music submissions in my inbox. Let me introduce you to Atlas Jungle.
The music we create, says Jeremy, is inspired by spirituality and the energy that live concerts and the experiences around them have imparted to us. These experiences have changed the way our minds relate to our perceptions to the point where it is a daily occurrence to remember how music has changed our lives. Its always in our heads and so the wish to create our own music comes very naturally.”
Hailing from New Haven, Connecticut this souful, funky with a twist of blues and electric atmosphere group will get your blood pumpin’, heart racin’, and air guitar jammin’ in no time.
An amalgamation of frequencies from the roots of house, psychedlic rock, trance, funk, and blues; Atlas Jungle is the tallest tree in their forest. Their sound, their presence, and their jams stand loud and proud above the rest.
Not only aurally stimulating, the group adds more potency to their musical potion with an engaging and mesmerizing show of lights. Making their home in churches, libraries and also custom installations, Atlas Jungle paints their frequencies creating an all encompassing experience reflective of the environments in which they choose to perform.
The core of this group includes Jeremy Spang and Nathan Bryant but their unique fusion of sounds is ever evolving resulting in unique experiences with each performance.
By using a computer with the projection mapping software, Resolume, Atlas is able to make their keyboard communicate with their projector so that every time a note is played on their keyboard, a note is heard and a projected image is played/seen at the same time…Jeremy started out doing lights on the wood stage at the Big Up music festival in 2012. It was at this festival that their first band, Outta D’ark, was formed.”
By controlling the lights with their instruments Atlas Jungle creates a unique sonic and visual experience that cannot be easily repeated much less experienced the same way twice.
If you dig this, I encourage you to connect with the band and share their work.
You can keep up with the latest and greatest on their website. But first, another tasty jam to kick your day up a notch.
