Definitively progressive with use of odd time signatures and key changes, apollo and Lacuna’s music takes blues-rock in a whole different direction, taking on the carnal folk style of Iron & Wine, the subtle whispers of Simon & Garfunkel, the beautiful oddities of Sigur Ros, and the blues infused pop of John Mayer and smashes them together with raw emotion and outlandish prowess. It’s clear that apollo and Lacuna does not limit itself to the cookie cutter song, instead reaching for a more evolved musical experience.
apollo and Lacuna, having written and recorded their full length debut album, Of Lions and Liberty, on a literal budget of $0 have decided to redefine the way the world makes music. Out of a San Diegan garage with second rate equipment and no schooling or experience in a world where only the perfect is acceptable, apollo and Lacuna’s music has been featured on College, Independent, and Internet Radio Stations around the country. They have toured from San Diego to South Carolina, playing anywhere from the local Coffee Shops, to Nashville’s Exit/In, to the MC Handy Festival in Florence, AL.
