MusicTree Festival will be going down June 7 – 11 in Manchester, Tennessee. We will be publishing info and features about the bands as we close in on this event. Feel free to check out our coverage from 2012.
Let everyone know who you are, where you are from and what style of music you play.
We are apollo and Lacuna and we are from Nashville, TN. Our current lineup includes myself, Josh Keas on guitar/vocals, Sam Barker on guitar, Brett Ellis on bass and Cullen Dehart on drums. We believe in incorporating all styles of music, but you’d best recognize us as an indie-blues folk hybrid.
What do you do for fun? You know…besides music?
We enjoy all other kinds of art: movies, books, GOOD tv shows, paintings, etc. I used to enjoy sports, but with an arthritic knee I’ve kind of given up on those sorts of activities.
What was the last song you listened to?
Pyramid Song – Radiohead, my friend Josh Dent recorded a cello exclusive cover of it and I preceded to listen to the original moments after.
What did you listen to when you were younger? What do you listen to now? Have your tastes changed?
My taste has changed incredibly, when I was a kid I listened to DC Talk, Audio Adrenaline, and Jars of Clay. As I got older I started listening to Metallica, AFI, and Iron Maiden. But now that I’m fully grown, I enjoy Peter Gabriel, Iron & Wine, and Dave Matthews Band most of all.
Was there an “ah-ha” moment in your life when you knew music would be the path you were going to walk?
When I started playing guitar around 12 years old, I just knew it’s what I’d be doing till I died. No one made me say so or challenged my time spent doing so, but I always just kind of knew. Here I am 12 years later with a full time job invested in writing, performing, and producing.
