Salt Lake City based singer/songwriter Antonio Dudley has released his soul-infused new EP titled Fragmented Soul.
Opening with Regret It, Antonio shows us off the bat he is in touch with an era of soulful R&B which is hard to find in modern times (circa 90s Golden Era). The smooth, strong flow from featured artist The Myster-E is a welcome treat to close out this opening track.
Moving into Once Upon A Time, Antonio slows it down a bit to allow his soulful, confident voice to exercise it’s full potential to emotionally pull you in and keep you engaged for the entire 3:06 chapter of this EP.
Transitioning quite smoothly into Broken Pieces, Antonio continues to impress upon us his ability to capture relatable life moments and deliver them back to us as engaging stories over mellow, rhythmic, and interesting sound beds. His use of elements from outside traditional R&B are a nice touch stylistically.
That’s Life takes a more minimalist approach sonically but Antonio does not allow himself to turn down the soul vocally, not even the slightest bit. Taking us on a journey through moments in his life, one will feel inspired to never give up on their dreams no matter what obstacles are faced and no matter what age you might be. It’s never too late!
Closing out this motivational and smooth EP is the last track Lanterns In The Sky. A sweet piano melody is met with a thick, thumping kick and some uplifting percussion. As the song progresses we pick up the pace a bit before slowing it back down for Antonio’s voice to continue showing us how bright his soul shines as a songwriter.
