Franklin Finesse
A young lady by the name of Anna Johnson contacted me on ReverbNation today, and reminded me how much I like her music! I first heard Anna last December, and fell in love with her beautiful voice and the stories she tells in her songs.
Her song M.U.S.I.C. tells of childhood days making music with her sister. If it doesn’t take you right back to your own childhood in some way, you just aren’t listening!
Bio (from profile)
“Anna Johnson is a girl who makes music from the deepest part of her heart. It’s intentionally simple/stripped/sincere so people feel what she feels. Effortless. Beautiful. No unnecessary words. No unnecessary flash. Lyrics and music from her soul to yours. Alison Krauss meets pop meets Norah Jones meets something honest and true.” I could not have found better words myself.
Her songs, and ideas are just gorgeous. Comforting, thought provoking, and inspiring are other words that come to mind. By the way, did I mention that she paints, too!
Anna is from Franklin, Tennessee. She received a scholarship to study in St. Paul from none other than Queen. (Now how is that for an endorsement of a young artist for ya? ) She is currently recording in Nashville at McPherson Studios and touring the Nashville area. I tell ya, I’m looking forward to catching one of her shows, as soon as I get a chance.
Do yourself a favor and check this young lady out, you just might learn something.
