Singer/songwriter Anna Claire Loftis wasn’t prepared for the unexpected plot twist that occurred during her family trip to Oregon. That unexpected twist found her and her family…and their car…at the bottom of a cliff. Going back to that event, Anna says,
Seriously, we all almost died that day. It was laughably one of the worst days of my life. But I remember circling back to the bottom of the mountain, opening the back side door, and hurling myself out of the car. I laid in the grass, watching an eagle fly over the lake. It was breath-taking, but because of how motion sick and tired I was, it was a little harder to appreciate that day. All that to say, sometimes I feel the same way trying to make it as an artist in Nashville. I really love it most days, but sometime I flashback to the feeling of myself laying on the side of the road utterly exhausted and craving intentional rest.
Anna remembers the event that inspired her new single.
As a true creative and songwriter would do, Anna has encapsulated these feelings and thoughts into audio form. Her new single is titled Motion Sick and is part of her yet to be released project, Happy on TV.
An ethereal, piano driven intro quickly leads us into the engaging and attention grabbing vocals that become the centerpiece of this melodically rich, cinematic listening experience. As the song builds, the emotions inside you build. What begins as a minimalist soundscape gradually builds into an ever intensifying wall of sound that fill your inner being and keep you listening until the song ends.
With recording and production work being handled in Nashville at Oceanway Studios at the hands of Cameron Rowe and Russell Scarborough, listeners are guaranteed a radio-ready, ambient pop gem. The pristine production quality does not go unnoticed.
You can listen to Motion Sick on Spotify or Apple Music.
