Andrew Farstar has arrived with his second album, Metamorphosis, which completes his transformation from an adult contemporary and jazz focus to EDM-infused pop music.
Accumulating thousands of views on YouTube and streams on Spotify as well as quite a bit of radio airplay in Europe and North America, Andrew Farstar made an impact with the adult oriented Jazz and Pop music featured on his first album. For his newest project, Farstar is trying to reach the younger demographic by infused his smooth pop vibes with danceable, energetic EDM.
In Andrew’s words,
Well, this album is more like a proclamation of my eclectic taste in music. I had a lot of fun making the album and experimenting with new sounds…”
Working with various producers located in the States and Europe, Farstar also collaborated with L.A. Hip Hop artist Dylan and Japanese female vocalist, Yuri. Influences from more popular acts such as Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth and Maroon 6 are all evident in this collection of new songs.
Andrew has produced and released two music videos for select tracks off the Metamorphosis project.
This Is How I Feel kicks off with an energetic combination of synthesizers, a danceable rhythm driven by hard hitting drums, and Andrew’s distinct, smooth vocal styling. The musical breakdown that incurs around the 2:08 mark leaves us enough space to appreciate the music and bust a few dance moves before building up energy in time for Andrew’s vocals to come back in strong. Lyrically the hook is strong and easily memorable.
My Infatuation (Love Vibration) opens with minimal instrumentation and head noddin’ claps which will have you snapping and clapping along instantly. Soon the energy increases as the drums pick up in intensity, the synth melodies become more prominent, and Andrew’s vocal performance reflects the flow of the instrumentation. With mature lyrics and a danceable sound bed, My Infatuation is an apt display of how Andrew walks the line between Adult Contemporary and EDM.
Metamorphosis is now available.
You can find it on Spotify and other major digital music providers.
