Pennsylvania based singer/songwriter Alex Stanilla has delivered his latest chaotic pop project Neotenic.
The last time I wrote about Alex, we were focusing on Qualia. Using that anthemic indie-pop record as a reference point, Neotenic takes us much deeper into Alex’s creative mind with a sound and lyrical content leaning more toward a discordian-esque portrayal of a chaotic pop soundscape packed with passionate yet quirky vocal performances that are as unique to the ears as the idea of listening to something labeled “chaos pop”.
As you allow yourself to open up to this non-traditional, far-from-trendy barrage of frequencies, you start to realize that Neotenic is as compelling and engaging as it is odd and out of the ordinary. Stanilla has an uncanny ability to infiltrate your senses in unexpected ways with unpredictable but well crafted electro-pop arrangements.
Recorded in Seattle and Pennsylvania, Neotenic was written and performed by Alex. Lewis Galli contributed bass. Eric Fletcher provided additional mixing and also mastered the song 24. N.G.U.O.Y., Doctor and Seleno were mastered by twenty/20 audio.
The one thing I can guarantee is that Neotenic is as invigorating as it is distinct and quirky. If you like your electro-pop with some flair and pizzazz, Alex has your fix.
