Check out our previous feature about Through The Sky and Dark Night.
Monks of Mellonwah are a powerhouse of a quartet from Sydney, Australia who are currently signed to A&R Worldwide (Coldplay, Muse) and recently won Best International Rock Band at the LA Music Awards and the AIM Music Awards in 2012.
Their new full length album, Turn The People, is being released in 3 parts. The first EP – Ghost Stories – was released on June 29th.
Afraid to Die is part 2 of the trilogy and is a true display of the band’s growth and maturity and includes 4 well crafted alternative rock hits.
As the band continues touring, working in the studio, and perfecting their craft, the songs continue improving, evolving, and showcasing the true depth of the Monks’ music.
Monks of Mellonwah sound like Led Zeppelin and the Red Hot Chili Peppers merging to write songs for the next Rick Rubin-produced Coldplay album.
For Afraid to Die, the band recorded 3 tracks at Aston Villa Studios in NSW, Australia with Joseph de la Hoyde. For “Downfall” the group worked with Keith Olsen and Rob Katz at Studio At The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada. Steve Hall held down mastering duties this time around.
I can’t wait for part 3!
