Award-winning Canadian rockers Across The Board have returned with their newest album Sonic Boom!
Fresh off a cross-Canada tour, which provided an abundance of traveling time to create new material, Sonic Boom is a sonic novel…a rock opera…a well crafted concept album. However you want to label it, there is no denying that this group of talented musicians is riding high on creativity and momentum.
If you don’t remember, we’ve covered Across The Board before. Sonic Boom is the follow-up to their previous project, Amends. I recently interviewed the band about this new release.
Sonic Boom is a collection of eight impactful, pop-rockin’, Americana-infused jams which serve as chapters in the journey of a band through the highs and lows of searching for and attaining success. Focusing on a heroine who dreams of taking her music from the farm to the urban prime time, Jacqueline Auguste wrote and conceptualized the album while touring by train from Toronto to Vancouver. The album was produced in Toronto by MC2 Music Media.
In Jacequline’s words,
“I imagined what it would really take to make it in this music industry”, shares Auguste, “–not only the sheer strength and unrelenting work we need to make a mark amidst all the noise, but the importance of writing great music that resonates with our fans.”
Writing music that resonates with fans is a mission Across The Board has accomplished time and time again.
Sonic Boom‘s instrumentation and musicality from the mellow, downtempo, acoustic driven tunes to the all out rock and roll, fist pumpin’, guitar soaring solo jams goes beyond that of the average up and coming band. Not only does the band create great songs consistently, their work ethic speaks for itself.
Be sure to check out our previous interview for more details, information and links about the new album.
The album will be available on May 4th (2018). Until then, connect with the band on Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube or Soundcloud.
