Knoxville, Tenn. — August 12, 2014 – AC Entertainment, one of the nation’s leading concert promoters and festival producers, has announced a new strategic partnership with the South Carolina-based Music Farm Charleston and the new Music Farm Columbia, which is slated to open September 2014. The new liaison will be a boon to music fans in each city and throughout the region, expanding the breadth and depth of musical offerings at the two clubs as well as elsewhere in the area.
“The growing cultural vitality we see in both Charleston and Columbia is inspiring. There’s tremendous potential here,” said Ashley Capps, AC Entertainment’s founder and CEO.
The Music Farm Charleston, S.C., is one of the longest running and most respected live music clubs in the Southeast, and the new Music Farm in Columbia is poised to follow in its footsteps.
AC Entertainment has become one of the most active concert promoters in both Charleston and Columbia, bringing artists such as the Avett Brothers, John Legend, B. B. King, Steely Dan, Bassnectar, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Hall & Oates, and Amos Lee to the region. It also presented and produced the sold-out Dave Matthews Band’s 2008 July 4 show at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.
AC has worked closely with Music Farm Charleston since 2008, bringing an array of up-and-coming artists such as the Carolina Chocolate Drops, City and Colour, Beach House, Grouplove, Halestorm, Passion Pit, Mastodon and Phantogram to the popular club.
“We’ve enjoyed a terrific working relationship with Marshall Lowe and his team at Music Farm Productions for several years. They have a strong commitment to excellence along with exciting ideas and vision which align well with our culture at AC,” said Capps. “The Music Farm has an impressive history, and we’re excited to work with them even more closely in building a great future in Charleston, Columbia and beyond.”
“We are extremely excited to be entering into this next stage of our relationship with AC Entertainment and look forward to combining our efforts to produce more quality shows in the Carolinas and the Southeastern United States,” said Marshall Lowe, founder of Music Farm Productions.
“Through our many years of working together with AC Entertainment we have found that we share many of the same ideals and philosophies as it relates to the concert business, artists and fans; this shared vision is the focus for many of the ideas and future endeavors that are in the works as well.”
The Music Farms will join a select group of world-class venues booked and programmed by AC Entertainment, including The Orange Peel in Asheville, N.C.; both the legendary Exit/In and the Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tenn.; and Track 29 in Chattanooga, Tenn. – all of which are regularly cited among Pollstar’s Top 100 Clubs in the world in attendance. AC also exclusively programs all of the non-symphony concerts for the Nashville Symphony Orchestra at its dazzling Schermerhorn Symphony Hall in downtown Nashville.
